ATP New York 2009 curated by The Flaming Lips & ATP - FAQs

  • When/where is it?

    The event takes place over 3 days, from Friday 11th September to Sunday 13th September 2009 inclusive at Kutshers Country Club in Monticello, NY.
    The three-day festival will have performances starting in the mid-afternoon, with around 35+ acts set to play live across the weekend with DJ sets until late at night, comedy, movies and more! There is dining, bars and other amenities onsite. Half of the line-up will be chosen by ATP and the other half by The Flaming Lips. Cinema will be hosted by Criterion and David Cross will curate the Comedy stage. More information on Kutshers can be found here at www.kutshers.com

  • How much do tickets cost?

    The weekend ticket price is $235 + booking fee per person. This will gain you entrance into the three day festival including all performances. You can buy weekend passes with or without accommodation (at an extra price).

    Limited day passes are also available, at $75 for the Friday and $95 per day for the Saturday or Sunday.

    There are also options to buy a Day Tripper pass which includes a day pass + bus travel from Manhattan to Kutshers, or also packages that include Weekend Passes + Accommodation + Bus Travel for the weekend. Click here for more details.

  • How much does the accommodation cost?

    There are two types of tickets on-sale: first tickets without accommodation, and second tickets with accommodation at the nearby Raleigh Hotel (accommodation at Kutshers is now sold out). The Raleigh Hotel is situated approximately 10 minutes bus ride away from Kutshers and we will be running shuttle buses between the two hotels. The Raleigh also has a bar where we will have djs playing into the night.

    PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE RALEIGH OR KUTSHERS IN REGARDS TO ATP. Any questions need to be directed to feedback@atpfestival.com as this is the only address that will be able to answer questions.

    The accommodation we have left comes in rooms for 3 or 4 persons at The Raleigh. All other room options are no sold out.

    Prices:

    3 persons - $450 (Plus $58.50 tax + bf)
    4 persons - $600 (Plus $78.00 tax + bf)

    Accommodations are sold by the room in 3 day blocks only, (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), you cannot buy just a single night. You are permitted to have any number up to the maximum occupancy in the room. For example, if you wish to purchase a 4 person occupancy room, you are permitted to have 1 - 4 people sharing the room during the event, and the price is the same for the room, regardless of how many people stay. Each person will still need to purchase a festival pass.

  • I feel like driving to ATP but how do i get there?

    The site is less than a 2 hour drive from New York City. Click on the links below for driving instructions and maps from a number of locations:

  • Which is the nearest Airport to ATP?

    The nearest airports are JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, and Stewart.

  • How Far are these Airports from ATP?

    JFK- Approx 108 miles - 132 minutes
    Van Wyck Expressway to Whitestone Bridge to Cross Bronx Expressway. Cross Bronx Expressway to Major Deegan Expressway North to NYS Thruway, North to Exit 16. Route 17 West to Exit 105B. Turn left onto Anawana Lake Road at first traffic light. Three miles to Kutsher's.

    LaGuardia- Approv 96 miles - 116 minutes
    Grand Central Parkway to Triboro Bridge to Major Deegan Expressway North. Follow directions as above.

    Newark- Approx 110 miles - 120 minutes
    New Jersery Turnpike North to Rte 80 West to Garden State Parkway, North to NYS Thruway North. Follow directions above.

    Stewart- Approx 45 miles - 50 minutes
    Leave airport and turn left. At first traffic light make a left, next traffic light make a left. Take Rte 84 West to Binghamton Exit. Take 17 West to Exit 105B. Turn left onto Anawana Lake Road at first Traffic light. Three miles to hotel.

  • What options are available if I wanted to travel to the site using the USAs fantastic public transport system?

    Bus

    Scheduled ShortLine/Coach USA Bus service from NY Port Authority Terminal in Manhattan to Monticello. Buses leave terminal located at 41st Street on 8th Ave. There are many buses throughout the day and it costs approx $58 return. Purchase tickets at windows 5,6,7.     Charter Bus / Private Car / Limousine

  • Can I Park On-site?

    Yes there is plenty of free parking for everyone, but we recommend for the sake of the environment that you car share where possible.

    Raleigh: Check-in is from 11am on Friday September 11th and check out is 10am sharp on Monday September 14th.

    Kutsher: Check-in is from 12noon on Friday September 11thh and check out is 12noon sharp on Monday September 14th.

  • What Else Is There To Do?

    Well, apart from watching about 35 fantastic live acts in intimate venues plus comedy, movies, pop quiz and more, there are too many other activities to mention them all but here are a few to start off with..

    Some of the activities for free are:

    Outdoor Tennis and Basketball Courts
    Indoor Cardio-Vascular Equipment and Free Weights
    Health Club / Wet and Dry Sauna
    Ping Pong Tables, Pool Tables
    Boating on the lake

    Activities which are come at extra cost are:

    Tennis Lessons and Private Court Time.
    18 Hole Championship Golf Course / Golf Club rental.

    There will be food vendors on-site with several options covering carnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Please be aware, there are no cooking facilities within the accommodation.

    No tickets are needed for under 5's, as long as they don't require a bed.

  • Are you selling bus travel from Manhattan/Brooklyn to the festival like you did last year?

    Yes, we have a number of travel and ticket packages available. Please note that anyone who has already purchased tickets to the event are welcome to pay the difference and take advantage of any of these packages.

    THE DAY TRIPPER - DAY TICKET WITH BUS TRAVEL INCLUDED

    On sale now are one day festival tickets combined with day return bus tickets between Manhattan and Kutshers meaning people can come for the day without having to worry about transport. Packages including one-day festival pass, return bus ticket and booking fee. All Daytripper tickets are only available via www.atpfestival.com payable using Paypal.

    FRIDAY DAYTRIPPER

    Departs 12 noon Manhattan returning same evening leaving Kutshers 1am

    Performing so far:

    SATURDAY DAYTRIPPER

    Departs 10am Manhattan returning same evening leaving Kutshers 1am

    EL-P, Anti-Pop Consortium, Autolux, Atlas Sound, Akron/Family, Sleepy Sun, Bridezilla + more to be announced.

    $160 total (includes one-day festival pass, return bus ticket and booking fee)

    SUNDAY DAYTRIPPER

    Departs 10am Manhattan returning same evening leaving Kutshers 1am

    Performing so far (curated by The Flaming Lips):
    The Flaming Lips, Boredoms perform 9 drummer BOREDRUM, No Age perform Husker Du
    Caribou perform as Caribou Vibration Ensemble, Deerhoof with Martha Colburn + more to be announced.

    $160 total (includes one-day festival pass, return bus ticket and booking fee)


    To buy one of these packages please email feedback@atpfestival.com with NEW YORK DAYTRIPPER in the email subject line stating which day you are interested in. If you have already purchased day tickets and would like to pay the $65 difference to upgrade to a daytripper ticket, please email us at the same address with the subject NEW YORK DAYTRIPPER UPGRADE. Again, these can only be paid for via Paypal direct to ATP.


    WEEKEND TICKETS WITH ACCOMMODATION AND BUS TRAVEL

    Also on sale from today are bundles combining weekend festival passes, accommodation and return bus tickets between Manhattan (or Brooklyn) and the festival, (leaving 10am Friday 11th September and arriving back in Manhattan/Brooklyn Monday 14th September). These can also only be paid for via Paypal direct to ATP. There are three options – detailed below.

    Package One (for 3 persons):
    3 day festival pass + accommodation at Raleigh Hotel + bus travel for 3 people = $1428.50 (inc booking fee)

    Package Two (for 4 persons):
    3 day festival pass + accommodation at Raleigh Hotel + bus travel for 4 people = $1903 (inc booking fee)

  • Can I camp on-site?

    No, sorry. However if you're determined to camp, there are sites available nearby that you should be able to discover through a quick google.
