November is going to be a VERY busy month for ATP. Not only will we have a lot of London shows and new announcements for all our upcoming festivals, but we'll also be returning to Camber Sands - Shellac will curate the Nightmare Before Christmas starting on the 30th - so what better way to head this overview than with some shots of Bob Weston showing each of his onstage facial hair configurations from back at their ATP in 2002?
We've got far too many shows this month to list them all, so we'll leave out the sold out shows from Beach House (who return in February, new London shows on sale here), Animal Collective, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Death Grips, Purity Ring and Dawn Hunger and get on with the stuff you can still get tickets to...
Monday 5th November: The new Spiritualized album 'Sweet Heart Sweet Light' is out now on Double Six/Spaceman Recordings and is getting rave reviews including an 8.8/Best New Music from Pitchfork. The band return to London very soon where they play the Roundhouse. Click here to buy tickets.
Monday 5th November: Young Wonder is an electronic pop duo from Cork, Ireland. Consisting of Ian Ring and Rachel Koeman they make music with big beats, euphoric synths, pitched vocals and Rach's sweet voice. Hear them at Soundcloud. They play the next show in our new weekly gig series at London's Sebright Arms, and we can now confirm support from DEMS and Ambassadeurs. Here are the details...
Tuesday 6th November: Exitmusic have played two excellent London support slots for us in the last year (for Sharon Van Etten and Braids), and we're very happy to have them back to headline at the Lexington this November. Support on the night is now confirmed as Empty Pools. Tickets for the show are on sale now priced at £8.
Tuesday 6th November: Melody’s Echo Chamber is the name given to the work of Paris-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Melody Prochet. Possessing a penchant for wild-eyed psychedelia, homespun motorik rhythm and an effortless flair for the sort of melodic classicism redolent of chamber song, Prochet is at once both an aficionado of pop’s outer limits and off-kilter to its expectations. Check out a track on Soundcloud.
Melody's Echo Chamber will play London Cargo this November, and Dan Bodan has now been added to the line-up along with main support Pale Seas to complete the night.
