RELEASE THE BATS MELBOURNE
An All-Day Halloween Party Extravaganza
Saturday 26th October 2013 will now take place at
Palais Theatre & Prince Bandroom, St Kilda, Melbourne, Victoria
Final Tickets On Sale Now via this link
Today ATP must announce that our forthcoming Release The Bats show which was due to take place in Altona is moving to the Palais Theatre (as Main Stage) and Prince Bandroom (as Second Stage), two venues located just a short walk from each other in St Kilda. Due to the current ticket sales trajectory we are faced with moving the event to these venues to ensure the event can take place. All currently booked tickets will be valid for new location and based on the smaller capacity of the new location we now only have a very small amount of tickets left before the event is sold out. All ticketholders will be emailed soon with more info about the event including wristbanding.
Here's the full info on the event:
Described as the "ultimate mix tape", All Tomorrow's Parties is a boutique festival that goes against the grain of the larger, more commercial music festivals - with quality and customer experience coming ?rst - presenting award winning sound and acclaimed organisation. ATP came to Australia in February for a special I'll Be Your Mirror event in Melbourne co-curated by The Drones. Beat called it "an unquestionable success" with TheVine adding that it "desperately needs to happen again."
ATP will return to Melbourne for a special all day Halloween party called Release The Bats. Held on the Saturday 26th October, it will feature an incredible line-up of international and Australian artists chosen by ATP, and will be headlined by The Breeders performing Last Splash and Television performing Marquee Moon (both bands performing their only Victorian shows and it will be Television's only Australian performance of Marquee Moon). Halloween fancy dress is encouraged, and those dressed as something to do with one of the bands will be eligible to win some excellent prizes.

The Breeders performing Last Splash (only Victorian show)
Television performing Marquee Moon (only Victorian show)

Artwork:
The amazing artwork for this event is by acclaimed artist Camille Rose Garcia.
Camille Rose Garcia was born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, The child of a Mexican activist filmmaker father and a muralist/painter mother, she apprenticed at age 14 working on murals with her mother while growing up in the generic suburbs of Orange County, visiting Disneyland and going to punk shows with the other disenchanted youth of that era. Garcia’s layered, broken narrative paintings of wasteland fairy tales are influenced by William Burroughs’ cut-up writings and surrealist film, as well as vintage Disney and Fleischer cartoons, acting as critical commentaries on the failures of capitalist utopias, blending nostalgic pop culture references with a satirical slant on modern society. Her work has been displayed internationally and featured in numerous magazines including Juxtapoz, Rolling Stone, and Modern Painter, and is included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum as well as the San Jose Museum of Art, which held a retrospective of her work, Tragic Kingdom, in 2007.
