Following in the footsteps of Jarvis Cocker, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Ray Davies and Ornette Coleman, David Byrne takes the reines as director of the 22nd Meltdown Festival at South Bank.
Running from Monday 17th August - Sunday 30 August this year's series of events includes a mixture of live music, performance art and Installations all curated by Byrne himself. The full list of already announced events can he found HERE.
ATP are please to be working with Royal Festival Hall to present Sunn O))) + special guests Phurpa as part of this year's Meltdown Festival.
Sunn O))) have been challenging the boundaries between genres for sixteen years. In that time, core members Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson have made music that connects metal, drone, contemporary composition, jazz and minimalism, while remaining true to the principles of volume, density and weight.
You can catch them playing on Tuesday August 18th with support from Russian electroacoustic and industrial act Phurpa.
