The fourth studio album from The Drones, Havilah, was released this year via ATP Recordings to widespread critical acclaim:

5 stars, “Gareth Lilliard is a songwriter of extraordinary power.” - Time Out
4 stars, “The quartet have elemental power.” - Mojo
“What Havilah does is jumps up and down on the rotting carcasses of The Vines and Jet, stabbing them again and again with a flag that says ‘Miles. Better. Than. You. Ever. Were.’” - NME
The band have have been nominated for 3 ARIA awards this year in the following categories: Best Group, Best Rock Album and Best Independent Release. These are the first ARIA nominations for The Drones, who in the last year have been performing to sold-out venues and receiving critical acclaim both in Australia and around the world. The last six months has seen the band literally circumnavigate the world, including two huge tours of the USA, two tours apiece of both the UK and Europe and multiple festival appearances (including All Tomorrow’s Parties in New York).
The Drones have long been considered by those in the know to be one of the most vital live rock bands of the last ten years, most recently their SXSW appearances led some publications to highlight them as the best band of the entire event. To coincide with their forthcoming UK tour (dates below), ATP Recordings are releasing a special edition of Havilah including new 9 track album Live At The Hi-Fi. This release is exclusively available from www.atprecordings.com or can be downloaded separately via iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=334308421&s=143444
