Verity Susman (of Electrelane) to support Deerhunter in London

Following their curation of the ATP festival and the release of their fantastic latest album Monomania, Deerhunter will make their long anticipated return to London for a headline show at the Roundhouse this November. Verity Susman is now confirmed to support.
After a decade as lead singer and multi-instrumentalist in experimental rock band Electrelane, Verity Susman's solo project probes new territory. Using music, visuals and computer voiceover, her gigs create a world of psychedelic alienation, embracing the subversive possibilities of awkwardness. Appearing in drag, her saxophone becomes an organ of musical and gender performance, confronting audiences with a female masculinity that is at once serious, humorous and uncomfortable. The show draws the audience into a collage of exploratory soundworlds, woven through surreal reconstructions of queer sci-fi fan-fiction tales.
